Security

Security and surveillance equipment depends heavily on LEDs: infrared illuminators for night vision on cameras, visible indicator and status LEDs on alarm panels and access control, and backlit keypads and readers. The infrared emitters in particular are designed to a defined wavelength and output, which gives a security camera the range and image quality it is built around.

A security device's whole purpose is to work reliably in the field. An IR illuminator that is below output or off its intended wavelength can mean reduced night range or a degraded image exactly when the camera is needed — and because infrared is invisible to the eye, it can be judged only in measurement.

Feasa products can test these boards at multiple points throughout the production process, reading wavelength and relative output for every IR LED in a single cycle — confirming performance the eye can't see. Infrared illuminators and IR sensing are typically handled by the Infrared LED Analyser, visible status and indicator LEDs by the Functional LED Analyser, and backlit keypads by the Low Light LED Analyser.

Find defects before customers do

A fault found at build costs far less than a return, recall or field repair

Protect brand reputation

A lighting defect that reaches the field reflects directly on the brand

Product consistency

Output should look the same from one unit to the next, and across a product range

Compliance

Specified and regulated products benefit from a documented result behind every unit

Objective, repeatable results

A measured value removes the subjectivity of a visual inspection

Keep pace with production

Fast, multichannel testing fits the line without becoming a bottleneck

Color & intensity testing

Confirms LEDs match one another and stay consistent from one unit to the next

Fast test times

Every LED read in a single cycle, in-line or off-line

IR Power & Wavelength testing

Verifies infrared and red emitters that can't be judged by eye

Low-light measurement

Reliable readings on dim, backlit and etched surfaces

Data logging & results output

Every reading captured and exported for records and analysis

Scalable multichannel testing

Up to 20 channels per analyser, daisy-chained for larger boards

Common security device lighting test scenarios

A closer look at how Feasa systems are applied to specific security device lighting measurement challenges.

Verifying alarm and status indicators

Color (x,y) and intensity are captured per indicator. Blink behavior is captured over time, with frequency and duty-cycle output.

The customer compares the output against their own spec.

Characterizing IR illuminators

The Infrared LED Analyser captures the wavelength and relative power of IR illuminators across 700–950 nm using the OH-8IR optical head.

Values are output per emitter, with repeatability under 1 nm on wavelength and under 1% on intensity.
