LEDs are widely used in consumer electronics: status and power indicators, backlit keyboards and buttons, RGB accent and gaming lighting, illuminated logos, and small displays. These products ship in very high volume and sit in the user's hand or on a desk, so any color or brightness variation between units is quickly noticed.
An RGB keyboard where one key lights a slightly different color, or a batch of devices whose power LEDs do no't match, can become a visible defect and a source of returns.
Feasa products can test these boards at multiple points throughout the production process, reading every LED in a single cycle — up to 20 channels per analyser, with units daisy-chained for larger boards. Status and indicator LEDs are typically handled by the Functional LED Analyser, RGB lighting by the RGB LED Analyser, backlit keyboards and panels by the Low Light LED Analyser, and small screens by the Display Analyser.
Find defects before customers do
A fault found at build costs far less than a return, recall or field repair
Protect brand reputation
A lighting defect that reaches the field reflects directly on the brand
Product consistency
Output should look the same from one unit to the next, and across a product range
Compliance
Specified and regulated products benefit from a documented result behind every unit
Objective, repeatable results
A measured value removes the subjectivity of a visual inspection
Keep pace with production
Fast, multichannel testing fits the line without becoming a bottleneck
Color & intensity testing
Confirms LEDs match one another and stay consistent from one unit to the next
Fast test times
Every LED read in a single cycle, in-line or off-line
Scalable multichannel testing
Up to 20 channels per analyser, daisy-chained for larger boards
RGB & multi-color testing
Handles mono, bi-color and RGB LEDs on the same board
Sequence & pattern characterization
Profiles blinking, sweeping or animated LED sequences over time
Low-light measurement
Reliable readings on dim, backlit and etched surfaces

Common consumer device lighting test scenarios
A closer look at how Feasa systems are applied to specific consumer device lighting measurement challenges.
Testing backlit symbols and icons
Product symbols, icons and device backlighting are captured for luminance and (x,y) in one multichannel acquisition.
Up to 20 channels are read per analyser and daisy-chained for larger boards. Values are output per point for the customer's uniformity check.
Verifying Optical Sensing LEDs
From fitness trackers and smartwatches to other wearable health devices, LEDs provide controlled illumination for optical sensing applications.
The Feasa LED Analyser tests LED intensity and color, helping ensure each sensing channel meets its required optical specification.
Characterizing RGB color and animation
The dedicated RGB Analyser handles the many permutations of RGB output, including PWM-driven LEDs.
Animation and breathing effects are captured as a sequence over time. Where LED calibration is required, the Feasa Spectrometer provides the accurate reference.
